Hope everyone is doing well. I understand that restaurants in Tijuana are allowed to seat up to 50% of their capacity starting tomorrow. I also believe that the Zone Norte bars are gong to re-open with 50% of capacity allowed. Thinking the Zona bars will most likely not comply with face masks or their 50% occupancy maximum. I think we all ready to return to something close to normal, but not at all sure it is safe. I have had my first vaccine and scheduled for my second on March 27. I don’t know anyone in Mexico that has had the vaccine yet accept medical workers.
People are asking about our next fiesta and I hope to have one in December if this pandemic is behind us and if our chicas can get the vaccines by then. I think it will probably happen but doubtful that we will have one sooner. Not discounting the possibility but not promising either. I know the new ladies are excited as the others keep talking about the fiestas. Anyway lets take it a day at a time and those decisions will be made later.
For me I am enjoying basketball daily and even the football that has started. Of course I am looking forward to the NCAA tournament with starts. Next Sunday is the pairings and the following Thursday will be the first 4 games with the tournament first round starting Friday the 18h. Looking forward to seeing the first round match-ups and making my picks. I believe baseball will be more on schedule this year as well football and then hopefully everything after that.
It is a shame how many businesses have gone under. Some of them are due to the pandemic but others are due to business decisions. The smaller stores have been getting bullied by other businesses that sell online and can still operated during the pandemic. I am convinced that many were going out of business before the Corona Virus hit our planet. Guess someone got rich selling face covering and of course Uber Eats have benefitted. I am sure others have profited as well. I see a 7-11 on Palamar in Chula Vista has gone out of business and I have to think that was screwed up management, but I don’t really know. For sure the bigger stores are not putting them out of business.
As an ex manager of Convenience stores, I do see lots of mismanaged businesses. These managers have to train these kids and when you see a bunch of kids playing pinchey ass it is a reflection of their training. Kids want to learn and to work and of course they need to be held accountable and praised when doing the right thing. So many managers think they have to do everything and just do not realize that if they spent a little more time on training then their jobs would be easier to manage. If you visit Tijuana a classic example is the McDonald’s that sits caddy corner from the Plaza Rio. What a location, and it was always crowded yet the management in that place would never leave their office and the place was always a mess. Fountain syrup sticking to the counters, no straws, no lids, no ice in the fountain, no catsup available for customers yet they were busy. Now they are out of business and this was before the pandemic.
Anyway I hope you have survived this pandemic and it is closer to returning to normal. I have learned of a few of our clients that dies from Covid and suspect their are others. Please do not be afraid to send a note and let me know you are ok. I am not going to call you or even e-mail you as I fear that I may be sending a note to a fallen amigo and his family will see it. You know I don’t want to make their pain any worse than it already is.
Be careful out there and just remember no matter how bad it is, it is worse for someone else so exercise your patience and do the best you can. When you are ready to visit we will be here with some of your favorite chicas and some of your future favorite chicas.
