Hello Folks!
Hope you are ready for Christmas. This has been an absolute nightmare of a year, but yet I still have plenty to be thankful for. First of all I have yet to get this virus, and have tested twice. I think I take it more serious than most, but that does not mean I will not get it. I just hope I can make good decisions and stay strong. My boys are fine and seem to be in good spirits. My oldest boy has postponed his Mexico trip for a few months which I believe to be a good decision on his part. My little guy is on break from virtual school and he really misses his interaction with other 9 year old kids but he is in good spirits. I believe his mother and I do a great job of co-parenting and I don’t want to contribute anything negative to our relationship.
Our business is down, but we are still earning but some of the ladies are not getting enough work. I believe things will get better quickly in 2021. Just knowing there is an approved vaccine, greatly helps my outlook. I think I benefited from not being in a relationship or at least without having a domestic partner. I have helped some of the ladies with food from time to time and gifts for their children, but that is in very small numbers. I cannot save the World, but I can make small contribution.
Have given up looking for a PlayStation 5 until after the new year. The little guy wants it and he has been so good. He is much more mature than I was at 9. It is a powerful feeling to be loved by a child, and I do not want to do anything that would disappoint him. I love being the hero. He is quickly becoming my hero and I believe he has made me a better human being.
NBA opened their season today and next week the NHL starts. We have both NFL and the college football going as well as college basketball. I am hoping that baseball can start on time this year and it may be the start of us returning to normal. Hopefully we all learned something from this pandemic.
Anyway I refuse to let this pandemic ruin my parade. I have my tree up and presents under the tree and I list to 96.5 FM in San Diego all day long all month long. I am going out on Thursday early afternoon to pass out sacks of candy to children. I won’t be outside of the car, and won’t be wearing my Santa outfit this year, but hope to do it all again in a few months so Gringo Claus can let the children know they have not been forgotten.
I have a half gallon of EggNog (non alcoholic) to enjoy on Thursday after having the afternoon seeing the children. I will have dinner in the evening with a friend in a Tijuana restaurant before seeing a couple of kids at home with their mother. On Friday my boy will come for the weekend and he will open his presents and we will have a good weekend.
So yes I have much to be thankful for.
So please be safe and enjoy your families. Remember our children take their cues from us, so let’s be good role models.
Happy Holidays,
Dennis Claus
